Tread Path of Integrity, Shun Cybercrime, Olukoyede Tells Youths
Abaji, FCT – November 3, 2025
The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerian youths to embrace integrity and stay away from cyber fraud and other social vices that could jeopardize their future.
Olukoyede made the call in Abaji, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), during the Youth Against Crime Festival held on November 3, 2025, at the Government Girls Secondary School, Abaji.
Represented by the Commission’s Head of Enlightenment and Reorientation, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE II) Aisha Muhammed, Olukoyede emphasized the dangers associated with cybercrime and the importance of honesty and hard work as the true path to success.
“Say no to cybercrime, no to stealing, no to lying, and say no to examination malpractice. Stand for integrity,” he charged the youths.
He explained that the EFCC’s partnership with youth organizations and schools across the country is part of its preventive strategy to raise awareness and discourage young people from engaging in corrupt and fraudulent activities.
According to him, the Commission’s school-based and youth-oriented enlightenment campaigns are essential in shaping the moral consciousness of the next generation, who are the future leaders of the nation.
“Our goal is to instill the values of honesty and responsibility among the youth so that they can make choices today that will positively define Nigeria’s tomorrow,” he added.
The event organizer, Tayo Folorunsho, commended the EFCC for its continuous engagement with young people, describing the initiative as “crucial to nation-building.” He noted that such programs play a vital role in fostering unity, discipline, and moral uprightness among Nigerian youths.
Also speaking at the event, the Area Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ahmed Abdulqadir, cautioned the participants against drug abuse, stressing its destructive impact on individuals and society.
The Youth Against Crime Festival brought together students, youth leaders, and representatives from various government agencies, all united in the call for integrity, discipline, and collective action against crime in Nigeria.
