NAF DECORATES 9 NEWLY WINGED UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE OPERATORS IN ADVANCED PRECISION WARFARE
Kaduna, Nigeria — 14 November A milestone in its ongoing modernization and technological transformation with the graduation and winging of nine newly trained Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operators under Course 4 Batch B.
The ceremony, held at the 401 Flying Training School (401 FTS) in Kaduna, marks a significant advancement in NAF’s commitment to smarter, technology-driven, and precision-led warfare aimed at safeguarding lives and enhancing national security.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodamen, the event was described as a defining moment in NAF’s effort to build a modern, agile, and intelligence-driven force capable of meeting evolving security challenges.
Representing the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Yusuf Dari, congratulated the graduating officers for successfully completing what he termed a rigorous and highly technical training programme. He highlighted the winging as a proud milestone for the Service.
AVM Dari emphasized that the newly winged UAV operators now carry the weighty responsibility of defending Nigeria’s airspace with professionalism, precision, and honour, noting that their role remains critical as the country intensifies the use of airpower and advanced surveillance systems in combating insecurity.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Aneke, in his remarks, extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support and strategic investment in building a capable and technologically advanced Air Force. He affirmed that the administration’s backing has accelerated NAF’s transition into a force better equipped to neutralize threats and protect citizens.
Air Marshal Aneke added that as these new air warriors take to the skies, they represent the enduring spirit of NAF’s transformation — flying smarter, saving lives, and serving with unflinching honour in defence of the nation.
The graduation underscores NAF’s expanding reliance on UAVs for intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance, and precision engagement, reinforcing the Service’s role in Nigeria’s national security architecture.
