PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES OLUWO OF IWO ON 10TH INSTALLATION ANNIVERSARY

Iwo, Osun State — November 16, 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I, as the revered monarch marks the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the ancient throne of Iwo.


In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, President Tinubu joined the sons and daughters of Iwoland, as well as friends and well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond, in celebrating what he described as a “remarkable milestone” in the life and reign of the influential traditional ruler.


President Tinubu lauded Oba Akanbi for his transformative leadership and the significant strides recorded in Iwoland under his custodianship over the past decade. He commended the monarch’s passion for the preservation and promotion of Yoruba heritage, noting that the Oluwo has been a strong advocate for cultural revival and unity among the Yoruba people.
Highlighting the monarch’s unique leadership style, the President remarked:
“Like him or hate him, you can hardly ignore his dynamism and leadership and the fact that his people deeply love him.”
The President further acknowledged the notable progress witnessed in Iwoland, attributing much of it to the monarch’s vision, courage, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.


“I congratulate Oba Telu on this milestone. My thoughts are with him and the people of this great city at this moment,” President Tinubu added.
He wished the Oluwo many more years on the throne, praying for continued wisdom, good health, and a reign marked by peace, development, and lasting impact.


As Iwoland celebrates this significant anniversary, the President’s message adds to the chorus of goodwill expressed nationwide for one of Yoruba land’s most charismatic and forward-looking traditional rulers.
