Kebbi Police Arrest Suspect Linked to the Killing of a Teenager in Birnin Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested 22-year-old Jame Jidda in connection with the killing of a teenager in Birnin Kebbi.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar Kotarkoshi, the tragic incident occurred on 24 November 2025 after police received a distress report indicating that a young man had been found lying in a pool of blood at the Illelar Yari area of Birnin Kebbi.
The victim, identified as 17-year-old Salihu Hassan of Gura Guri village in Makera District, was immediately rushed to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed him dead.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives apprehended the suspect, Jame Jidda, who resides in the same area. During preliminary investigation, he reportedly confessed to stabbing the victim in the neck with a sharp knife following an argument.
The Police Command disclosed that efforts are ongoing to recover all relevant exhibits while preparations are underway to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello Muhammad Sani, appealed to youths across the state to shun violence and avoid taking the law into their own hands. He urged them to seek redress through lawful and appropriate channels to prevent avoidable tragedies.
