The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the rescue and release of the remaining abducted students of St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Command disclosed that the remaining batch of the victims was released on December 21, 2025. According to the police, a total of 130 persons, comprising students and staff of the school, have now regained their freedom.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who signed the statement, assured the public that further developments regarding the incident would be communicated in due course.
The Niger State Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state and appreciated the support and cooperation of members of the public throughout the rescue efforts.
