UPDATE ON ABUJA–LOKOJA ROAD
Abuja – December 2025
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued an update on the traffic situation along the Abuja–Lokoja Road following the persistent gridlock experienced by motorists.
The Corps Marshal of the FRSC has ordered the deployment of additional officers and tow trucks to strategic locations along the highway to ease traffic congestion and ensure the swift removal of broken-down vehicles and other obstructions.
According to the FRSC, the traffic congestion is largely due to increased vehicular movement during the festive season, ongoing construction activities at several points on the road, as well as the actions of undisciplined and impatient drivers who drive against traffic.
The Corps Marshal has therefore urged motorists traveling along the Abuja–Lokoja Road to cooperate with personnel on duty and comply with traffic regulations to facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure safety for all road users.
The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to effective traffic management and road safety, especially during periods of heavy traffic, and advised motorists to exercise patience and plan their journeys accordingly.
