Kebbi State Government Announces Reopening of Schools

The Kebbi State Government has approved the reopening of all schools across the state, with effect from Monday, January 5, 2026.

The approval was conveyed in an official directive contained in a letter signed by Isah Ibrahim K., Head of Public Relations and Protocol (HPRP), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). According to the statement, the reopening applies to all public and private educational institutions in the state following a temporary closure aimed at ensuring safety and administrative preparedness.

The government urged all stakeholders in the education sector—including school administrators, teachers, parents, students, and Education Secretaries—to take note of the directive and ensure full compliance.
School heads have been instructed to make adequate preparations to guarantee a smooth and safe resumption of academic activities. These preparations include ensuring readiness of facilities, staff availability, and adherence to required administrative guidelines.

Parents and guardians were also advised to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly, as academic sessions are expected to commence immediately without delay upon resumption.
The Kebbi State Government reaffirmed its commitment to the orderly management of the education sector and called for the cooperation of all concerned to ensure a successful reopening of schools across the state.
