TROOPS OF OPHK NEUTRALISE TERRORISTS AND RECORD SURRENDERS IN BORNO STATE

Maiduguri, Borno State | 11 January 2026

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have sustained intense offensive operations against Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists across Borno State, recording significant successes in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
Along the Azir–Wajiroko axis, sustained military pressure forced 11 terrorist fighters to surrender, during which they handed over AK-47 rifles and assorted ammunition to the troops.

According to a statement signed by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, troops on 9 January 2026 conducted extensive clearance operations within the Bulaagalda cluster. During the operation, several terrorist enclaves and camps were destroyed at Dagumba, Bonne, Yaganari, Gosuri and Umchile.

The troops dismantled terrorist life-support structures, degraded logistics networks and recovered items including terrorist flags, weapons and magazines.

Similarly, offensive operations carried out in the Yale and Bula Gaida areas forced terrorists to flee their hideouts, resulting in the destruction of additional logistics facilities and the recovery of weapons, ammunition and a general-purpose machine gun.
In a related operation based on credible intelligence, troops engaged JAS/ISWAP elements between Sojiri and Kayamla villages, leading to the neutralisation of eight terrorists and the recovery of AK-47 rifles.

Additionally, two suspected terrorist logistics collaborators were arrested at Gubio Local Government Area for supplying logistics to terrorist elements.

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI remain resolute in sustaining offensive pressure against terrorist groups and restoring lasting peace and security across Borno State and the wider North East region.
