TROOPS OF OPHK DESTROY MULTIPLE TERRORIST CAMPS, RECOVER ARMS AND EQUIPMENT

Troops of the Joint Task Force North East (JTF-NE), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded significant operational successes in the ongoing Operation DESERT SANITY, destroying multiple terrorist camps, recovering arms and equipment, and repelling coordinated attacks by insurgents within the Timbuktu Triangle.

According to a statement signed by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the operation was conducted on Sunday, 18 January 2026. Troops advanced from their harbour areas to execute deliberate, intelligence-led operations across several identified terrorist enclaves, including Chilaria, Garin Faruk, and Abirma.
The operation was supported by the Air Component of OPHK, which provided persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) coverage throughout the axis, enabling ground forces to effectively locate and neutralize terrorist hideouts.
During the course of the operations, troops recovered a cache of terrorist logistics and combat enablers.

Items recovered include Baofeng radios, mobile phones, five AK-47 magazines, several rounds of 7.62 × 39mm special ammunition, 7.62mm NATO belted ammunition, Boko Haram/ISWAP flags, links of 12.7 × 108mm ammunition, diesel-powered grinding machines, and a large quantity of medical supplies.
Additionally, troops uncovered several bags of grains, a pick-up truck, underground logistics storage facilities, as well as a Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) dump. The destruction and recovery of these items have further degraded the operational and logistical capabilities of the terrorist elements operating in the area.

The military high command has commended the troops for their professionalism, resilience, and commitment, while reaffirming the resolve of Operation HADIN KAI to sustain offensive actions until all terrorist threats in the North East are decisively neutralized.
