NMSL ADVOCATES EARLY DETECTION AS WORLD GLAUCOMA WEEK IS MARKED

Abuja, Nigeria — March 13, 2026
As the world marks World Glaucoma Week, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Medical Services Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at creating a glaucoma-free world through increased awareness and access to eye care services.
The medical services provider emphasised that early detection remains the strongest protection against irreversible vision loss caused by Glaucoma, urging members of the public to prioritise routine eye examinations.
According to the organisation, timely diagnosis and treatment can significantly reduce the risk of permanent vision impairment, making regular screening an essential step in maintaining healthy eyesight.
NMSL therefore encouraged Nigerians to protect their sight by visiting any of its hospitals for routine eye screening and professional eye care services.
The hospitals are located in key cities across the country including Abuja, Benin City, Kaduna, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Warri.
The initiative forms part of NMSL’s broader healthcare outreach efforts aimed at improving public health awareness and ensuring accessible medical services for communities across Nigeria.
