London, United Kingdom — 16 March 2026

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has engaged Nigerian media practitioners and social media influencers in London, urging them to support national development by highlighting the gains of ongoing government reforms.

The engagement, which took place at a private dinner ahead of the planned State Visit of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the United Kingdom, brought together members of the Nigerian media ecosystem and prominent digital influencers.

Speaking during the gathering, the Minister emphasized that as the Tinubu administration continues to implement its Renewed Hope Agenda, the media has a crucial role to play in promoting understanding among citizens regarding the objectives and outcomes of the government’s reform programmes.

According to him, the administration’s bold policy reforms are designed to guide Nigeria through a process of national renewal and economic transformation, aimed at strengthening institutions, improving governance, and delivering long-term benefits for Nigerians.

He therefore encouraged media professionals and digital content creators to present balanced and factual narratives that reflect the progress being made while fostering informed public discourse.

The engagement formed part of activities preceding President Tinubu’s official engagements in the United Kingdom and underscored the government’s commitment to maintaining open communication with Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
