MULTIPLE SUICIDE BOMB EXPLOSIONS ROCK MAIDUGURI METROPOLIS, SECURITY FORCES URGE VIGILANCE

The Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team and other security agencies, has responded swiftly to multiple suicide bomb explosions in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, securing and cordoning off affected areas to prevent further harm.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the attacks were carried out by suspected Boko Haram terrorist suicide bombers who detonated improvised explosive devices at three separate locations within the city during the period of Iftar.
The affected locations include the Post Office area, the Monday Market axis, and the entrance to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other medical service providers, promptly evacuated casualties to the General Hospital, Specialist Hospital, and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Security forces have since intensified surveillance, patrols, and counter-IED operations across the metropolis in a bid to track down any remaining suspects and prevent further attacks.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm but vigilant, avoid crowded areas where possible, and promptly report any suspicious persons, unattended items, or unusual activities to the nearest security agency.
Operation HADIN KAI also commiserated with the families of victims affected by the attacks and reassured the public of the continued commitment of troops and other security agencies to safeguarding lives and property while pursuing those responsible for the heinous acts.
