OLUKOYEDE RECEIVES AFRICAN BOY CHILD DEVELOPMENT AWARD

Abuja, Nigeria — 14 March 2026

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has been honoured with the African Boy Child Development Award in recognition of his leadership in promoting integrity and youth empowerment across the continent.

The award was presented on Friday, 14 March 2026, at the maiden edition of the Africa Culture Fashion Show and Awards held at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

According to the organisers, the EFCC Chairman was recognized for his steadfast leadership in promoting ethical values, protecting young people from crime, and advancing initiatives focused on empowering the African boy child.

Olukoyede, who was represented at the event by the Head of the EFCC’s Enlightenment and Re-orientation Unit, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, Aisha Mohammed, expressed appreciation for the honour and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to instilling integrity among young people.

Delivering a goodwill message, he described the event as a celebration of Africa’s rich cultural heritage and creativity, noting that the continent’s diversity remains one of its greatest strengths.

He highlighted Nigeria’s vast cultural landscape, emphasizing that the country’s numerous ethnic groups contribute to a vibrant mix of traditions in food, music, fashion, and festivals.

The EFCC Chairman also acknowledged the growing importance of the fashion industry as a driver of economic development across Africa, while drawing attention to challenges such as counterfeiting, piracy, and financial crimes affecting the sector.

He assured stakeholders of the Commission’s continued commitment to promoting transparency and combating corruption in all sectors of the economy, urging collaboration in building a prosperous Africa where culture and creativity serve as catalysts for growth.

Commending the organisers, Olukoyede noted that initiatives that promote African creativity, unity, and innovation are essential for sustainable development on the continent.

He also encouraged the African boy child to embrace integrity, remain focused, and cultivate positive values, stressing the importance of surrounding oneself with good influences and standing firm for what is right.

The Africa Culture Fashion Show and Awards is aimed at celebrating African cultural heritage, promoting fashion innovation, and empowering young Africans through creative and cultural expression.
