Interior Minister Receives Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria Ahead of 2026 AACT Championship

The Minister of Interior recently received a delegation from the Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), led by its President, Dr. Lami Onayi Ahmed, in preparation for Nigeria’s historic hosting of the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), a major Pan-African women’s golf championship.

During the visit, the delegation presented an Appreciation Plaque to the Minister in recognition of his support for sports development and women’s empowerment initiatives.

The Minister expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that it reflects the broader collective efforts of the Ministry of Interior in promoting national development through sports and other empowerment programmes.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that advance sports development, encourage greater participation of women in athletics, and strengthen sports diplomacy across Africa.

The LGAN visit highlights ongoing collaborations aimed at positioning Nigeria as a key destination for international sporting events, particularly in women’s golf.
