Gombe APC Announces Dr. Jamilu Shaiyaku Gwamna As Consensus Governorship Candidate For 2027

Gombe, Nigeria — April 30, 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has announced Jamilu Shaiyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

The decision was reached at an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting presided over by the party leader and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

According to a statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the meeting also ratified consensus candidates for the state’s three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats, and 24 State House of Assembly constituencies.

The session was attended by governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly aspirants, members of the State Working Committee, party elders, and other key stakeholders, including zonal officials and senior party figures.

Party leaders explained that the adoption of consensus candidates followed extensive consultations led by Governor Yahaya, involving party executives, aspirants, and grassroots stakeholders, aimed at strengthening unity and minimising internal disputes ahead of the elections.

Among those adopted as senatorial candidates are Mohammed Ahmadu Deba for Gombe Central, Jerry Damara for Gombe South, and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for Gombe North.

For the House of Representatives, candidates include Usman Bello Kumo (Akko), Inuwa Garba (Yamaltu/Deba), Ali Isa JC (Balanga/Billiri), Fatima Binta Bello (Kaltungo/Shongom), Saddam Bello (Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye), and Jamilu Shabewa (Dukku/Nafada).

The development is part of ongoing efforts by the APC in Gombe State to consolidate party cohesion and present a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections.
