Makurdi, Benue State – May 28, 2026

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Benue State Command, says it has deployed 1,760 personnel across the state to ensure public order and safety during the Eid El-Kabir celebrations.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ejelikwu Anebi, said the proactive move was aimed at protecting lives, Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across the state.

According to the statement, the State Commandant of the Corps, Bitrus Alice Larai, directed the deployment in anticipation of large gatherings at Eid prayer grounds, markets and recreational centres across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state for the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations scheduled for May 27 and 28, 2026.

Larai said the personnel would provide security, crowd control, traffic management and emergency response services at strategic locations to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration.

The Commandant charged officers and men of the Corps to remain professional, vigilant and dedicated in the discharge of their duties throughout the festive period.

She also assured residents that the command would continue to collaborate with other sister security agencies to guarantee the overall safety of lives and property in the state.

The NSCDC advised members of the public to remain law-abiding and report emergencies through the command’s dedicated emergency line: 09022991199.
