Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has urged children across the country to take ownership of today in a responsible and purposeful manner, stressing that the future they desire is shaped by the choices they make now.
Extending heartfelt love to children in a message marking the 2026 Children’s Day celebration with the theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” the First Lady said that as leaders of tomorrow, children must be active participants in shaping the present.
She encouraged them to remain focused, make wise decisions, and use their time productively, noting that a brighter future cannot be achieved through destructive or unrealistic paths.
According to her, children must instead build character, discipline, and a strong commitment to learning and personal growth in order to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
The First Lady also reaffirmed the importance of inclusion, care, and equal opportunities for every Nigerian child, irrespective of background or circumstance.
She called on parents, guardians, teachers, and stakeholders to continue supporting children by creating an environment that nurtures their talents, protects their rights, and prepares them for a successful future.
