Nigeria Reaffirms Economic Cooperation With Russia At High-Level Bilateral Engagement

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Russia during a high-level bilateral engagement involving key officials from both countries.
The meeting focused on expanding trade relations, industrial development, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships in critical sectors of the economy, including energy, agriculture, technology, and infrastructure.

Representatives of the Nigerian government emphasized the importance of deepening economic ties with Russia as part of ongoing efforts to diversify Nigeria’s economy and attract foreign investments capable of driving sustainable growth and development.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, alongside Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, highlighted Nigeria’s readiness to collaborate with Russian partners in areas that would enhance industrial productivity, job creation, and economic stability.

Officials at the engagement also discussed mechanisms to improve bilateral trade frameworks, facilitate business-to-business partnerships, and promote knowledge exchange between both nations.
