President Tinubu Removes NMDPRA Chief Executive, Nominates Rabiu Umar as Replacement

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate removal of the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Mr. Saidu Mohammed.

In a related development, the President has nominated Mr. Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as the new Chief Executive of the Authority, subject to confirmation by the Senate.

The decision is part of ongoing efforts to reposition key institutions in the petroleum sector for improved efficiency and regulatory effectiveness.

The Presidency noted that the nomination will be forwarded to the Senate for consideration and confirmation in line with statutory requirements.
