PDP and ADC Agree to Field Single Presidential Candidate for 2027 Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of former Senate President David Mark, have agreed to present a single presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.

The decision was announced at an opposition summit held in Oyo State, where leaders of both parties emphasized the need for unity and strategic collaboration ahead of the polls.

According to the parties, the move is aimed at strengthening the opposition and presenting a formidable front capable of contesting effectively in the next presidential election.

Speakers at the summit noted that political alliances and consensus-building remain critical in achieving electoral success, stressing that the agreement reflects a shared commitment to national development and democratic consolidation.

The parties also indicated that further consultations and frameworks would be established to determine the process for selecting the joint candidate, while reaffirming their resolve to work together in the interest of the country.
