The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPCL) has assured Nigerians that the current fuel scarcity and queues at filling stations will be resolved by Wednesday.

In a statement made on Tuesday in Lagos, Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Communications Officer of NNPCL, provided an update on the situation. He informed the News Agency of Nigeria that the company currently has a surplus of over 1.5 billion liters of petroleum product, which is sufficient to sustain operations for at least 30 days.
Soneye explained that the recent disruption in fuel distribution, which lasted for three days, was due to logistical issues but has since been resolved. However, he noted that overcoming such disruptions typically takes double the amount of time to return to normal operations.
While acknowledging the minimal scarcity of fuel lately, Soneye expressed concern that some individuals might be exploiting the situation for unwarranted gains by maximizing profits.
He reassured the public that the fuel queues would be cleared out between Tuesday and Wednesday, restoring normalcy to fuel distribution across the country.
The announcement from the NNPCL comes as welcome news to Nigerians who have been grappling with fuel scarcity and long queues at filling stations in recent days.
