ACTING COMMANDER SECTOR 4 OPERATION HADIN KAI ASSURES NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF CONTINUED COOPERATION

Yola, Adamawa State – October 8, 2025

The Acting Commander Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai and Commander 23 Armour Brigade, Brigadier General Amechi Agwu, has reaffirmed the Sector’s unwavering commitment to strengthening cooperation with the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria (NHRCN), Adamawa State Chapter, in fostering and upholding human rights within military operations.


This assurance was made on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, during a courtesy visit by the Acting State Coordinator of the NHRCN, Adamawa State Chapter, Mrs. Grace Mamza, to the Headquarters of 23 Brigade in Yola.


During the visit, Brigadier General Agwu acknowledged the critical role the NHRCN plays in ensuring accountability and respect for human rights, particularly in operational contexts. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and enhancing the existing synergy between Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai and the Commission.
“We welcome your visit and value the contributions of the NHRCN. The door of this Sector remains open to constructive engagements that will help improve our operations and ensure that they are conducted with the utmost respect for human rights,” the Acting Commander stated.
In her remarks, Mrs. Grace Mamza commended Sector 4 and 23 Brigade for their openness and continued efforts in strengthening collaboration with the Commission. She clarified that the NHRCN is not a punitive body but one tasked with safeguarding the rights of all citizens, including within military operational environments.
“Our visit today is to familiarize with the Acting Commander and to reaffirm our presence and commitment to supporting the protection of human rights across the State,” Mrs. Mamza explained.


The visit featured several symbolic gestures including the signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of a souvenir by the Acting Commander to the NHRCN Coordinator, and group photographs to commemorate the occasion.


The event underscored the shared dedication of both the military and the human rights community to uphold the rule of law and protect the dignity of every citizen within the framework of ongoing security operations.
