Troops of Operation Hadin Kai Eliminate 10 Terrorists, Recover Weapons in Borno State Operation

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have neutralized 10 terrorists in a successful night operation conducted along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis of Borno State. The offensive, carried out by Sector 1 troops of the 24 Task Force Brigade, is part of ongoing counter-insurgency efforts to rid the North-East of remnants of terrorist elements.
According to military sources, the latest operation followed an earlier engagement around Katarko, where more than 50 insurgents were eliminated in a coordinated assault.
The most recent encounter took place late Saturday night, when terrorists attempted to infiltrate Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis. The vigilant troops swiftly repelled the attack, unleashing heavy and accurate firepower that forced the insurgents to retreat. In a desperate bid to escape, the fleeing terrorists diverted toward Dikwa, but were once again ambushed and overwhelmed by troops positioned along the Dikwa–Marte route.
At daybreak, a follow-up clearance operation confirmed that 10 terrorists had been neutralized. The troops also recovered a significant cache of weapons and equipment, including five AK-47 rifles, a PKT machine gun, locally fabricated firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, motorcycles, bicycles, a radio communication set, and personal belongings left behind by the fleeing terrorists.
The Military High Command commended the gallantry, professionalism, and tactical precision of the troops, noting that their resilience continues to weaken the operational capabilities of terrorist networks in the region.
In a statement, the command reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to sustaining aggressive counter-insurgency operations under Operation HADIN KAI, with the goal of restoring lasting peace and stability across the North-East.
“The Nigerian Armed Forces remain resolute and determined to bring an end to terrorism and insurgency. Our troops will continue to pursue the remnants of these criminal elements until every inch of Nigerian territory is safe,” the statement added.
The latest success underscores the steady gains recorded by the military in the ongoing fight against insurgency, as communities across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa States begin to experience a gradual return to normalcy under improved security conditions.
