FRSC Prevents Major Disaster of a Fallen Fuel Tanker in Kaduna
Kaduna, Kaduna State, February 8, 2026
Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna Sector Command, successfully averted a major disaster following a lone fuel tanker crash that occurred at NEPA Roundabout along Ahmadu Bello Way, Kaduna, in the early hours of Sunday, February 8, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Corps Public Education Officer, Segun Ogungbemide, the Kaduna Sector Command received a distress call reporting that a fuel tanker had fallen at the busy roundabout. FRSC operatives immediately mobilized to the scene to contain the situation and prevent further danger.
Upon arrival, FRSC personnel promptly secured the area by closing all roads leading to the crashed tanker. This decisive action was taken to avert secondary crashes and eliminate the risk of a possible fire outbreak, given the highly flammable nature of the tanker’s contents.
To minimize disruption and ensure public safety, traffic diversion was swiftly implemented. The measure helped maintain a steady flow of vehicles and reduced congestion within the Kaduna metropolis while recovery and safety operations were ongoing.
The FRSC commended the prompt response of its personnel and reiterated its commitment to proactive road safety management, urging motorists to remain vigilant and cooperate with traffic officials during emergencies to safeguard lives and property.
