IG Calls for Stronger Collaboration in Tackling Cybercrime as Joint Case Team Visits NPF-NCCC

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has called for stronger collaboration among relevant agencies in the fight against cybercrime in Nigeria and across the global community.

This was disclosed by the Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), Akaninyene Ezima, during a familiarization visit by members of the Joint Case Team on Cybercrime to the NPF-NCCC office in Abuja.

The Joint Case Team on Cybercrime comprises representatives from the Office of the National Security Adviser, Federal Ministry of Justice, Nigeria Police Force, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, and the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit.

Speaking during the visit, the team leader, Jamila Akaaga Ade, expressed the team’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the NPF-NCCC, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening efforts aimed at combating cybercrime both locally and internationally.

The Joint Case Team is mandated to investigate cybercrime cases across member agencies and leverage international legal frameworks to ensure the effective and timely prosecution of offenders.
