NAF Air Strikes Destroy Terrorists’ Hideouts in Southern Tumbuns

Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria | April 24, 2026

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, has carried out precision air strikes that destroyed terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State.

The operation, conducted on April 24, 2026, targeted Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist enclave, as part of ongoing efforts to sustain pressure on insurgent elements operating within the region.

According to a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Ehimen Ejodame, the mission was based on credible intelligence indicating active terrorist movements within the area. NAF air assets subsequently conducted a focused surveillance sweep, during which several insurgents were observed moving along concealed tracks.

Following positive identification of the targets, the air force executed a precision strike using onboard munitions, successfully engaging and destroying террорист structures. The operation significantly degraded the terrorists’ operational capacity and restricted their freedom of movement within the enclave.

The strike highlights the NAF’s continued reliance on intelligence-led and precision-driven operations aimed at eliminating terrorist strongholds and denying them safe havens.

Reaffirming the force’s commitment, the Chief of the Air Staff, Hasan Bala Abubakar, stated that the Nigerian Air Force remains resolute in its mission to dismantle terrorist networks across the country. He emphasized that operations will continue with sustained intensity to ensure that no enclave remains beyond the reach of security forces.

The latest success further demonstrates the ongoing coordination between air and ground forces under Operation Hadin Kai, as efforts intensify to restore peace and stability in the North-East region.
